Our club supported the blood donation campaign

As part of the national blood donation campaign initiated by Rotary Israel, members of the "Tel Aviv Elbrus" club took a unique approach. Instead of standard blood donation, they opted for platelet donation—a procedure that allows for the most efficient use of each donated portion.
The club's most experienced donor, Olga Radionova, was chosen to participate in the campaign, while the entire process was documented by the club’s photo correspondent, Irina Kravchenko.
Why platelet donation? Platelets play a crucial role in saving lives:

🩸 They help stop bleeding and are essential for treating severe illnesses.

🩸 Every 15 seconds, someone in the world needs a platelet transfusion.

🩸 A single platelet donation can replace 5–6 standard blood donations and help up to three people.
This initiative was an important step in supporting those in need and demonstrated how resources can be used most effectively. Club members emphasized their commitment to continuing to support donor initiatives in the future.
